After nearly 20 years of accounting roles, primarily in financial reporting and analysis, I decided that it was time that I found a career and company that were more in line with my business values and life goals. In 1994, I founded the financial staffing firm and local work/life balance pioneer, Certes Financial Pros.

In my 13 years as President and Founder, Certes realized consistent double digit growth and was honored with multiple awards for its positive company culture, treatment of employees, and innovative entrepreneurial spirit. Looking for a little more work/life balance for myself, I sold Certes in 2007 to national staffing firm, Staffing Now.

In 2009, I founded KarenCaring, Inc., a holding company for any venture I deem fun! Currently, I am working on bringing two books to print. The first is a children’s Christmas story, Gifts of the Heart, coming out in the fall of 2009. The second book will be a compilation of business insights and wisdom, very much in line with my Business Values columns made popular in the MNCPA Footnote magazine.
